Advert: Scholarships under Makerere-Sweden Research programme

The Directorate of Research and Graduate Training, Makerere University invites applications for Scholarships under the Mak-Sweden Research programme. Applications are invited from employees of any of the four Partner Public Universities (Makerere, Gulu , Busitema and Mbarara University of Science and Technology).

Scholarships positions include 3 Postdoc fellowships in Mathematics; 7 Master degree in Social Sciences; 2 Library and 1 Master degree at College of Health Sciences.

Master in Information Science Scholarships(2 positions available)

The Capacity building of librarians through graduate training and research component will be implemented by Makerere University Library in partnership with the Swedish KTH Library. The objective of this component is to improve library development through graduate training and research by librarians from Makerere University and the partner public universities in Uganda.Applications for 2 Masters Scholarships are therefore invited from qualified candidates for Masters of Science in Information Science tenable at Makerere University Uganda, starting with Academic year 2018/2019.

Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacology or Public Health (1 position available)

Towards better treatment of infectious diseases in children in rural Uganda. Better diagnostics and algorithms for increased quality of care, rational use of medicines and minimized antimicrobial resistance.

Postdoc Fellowships in Mathematics (3 positions available)

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral fellowships tenable at any of the following five Swedish Universities: Linköping University, Mälardalen University, Stockholm University, The Royal Institute of Technology-KTH and Uppsala University.The research will be in both Pure and Applied Mathematics but with preference to Pure Mathematics.

Master degree in Social Sciences (7 positions available)

Applicants are invited for the MA fellowships tenable at Makerere University and other Public Universities. Seven (7) fellowships are available in 2018/2019 academic year, covering tuition and research costs for 2 years. Applicants should apply to the following available Graduate programmes:

MA in Sociology
MA in Rural Development
MA in Public Administration
MA in Gender Studies
MA in International Relations
MA Social Sector Planning and Management
