Three Mak Sida-funded Faculty successfully complete their PhD studies in Sweden

The three PhD studies were under the Sida BRIGHT project that is funded by Sida under the Makerere-Sweden Research Cooperation.
The Sida BRIGHT project is led by Associate Professor Engineer Bainomugisha (PI) and Professor Michel Chaudron. BRIGHT project aims at contributing towards sustainable socio-economic growth in Uganda through capacity building in Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) research.

Objectives of Sida BRIGHT project is to train Ten (10) PhD students within the areas of digital innovation, software engineering and entrepreneurship will be trained through a research partnership between Makerere University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology, University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology of Sweden.

The Dean School of Computing and Informatics Technology, CoCIS- Dr. Gilbert Maiga appreciated the support of SIDA, Management, the efforts of DRGT and last but not least the team led by Associate Professor Engineer Bainomugisha for delivering and making the School proud.

Professor Mukadasi Buyinza appreciated the support from the people and Government of Sweden, Embassy team, DRGT team and the Sida BRIGHT project team led by Associate Professor Engineer Bainomugisha.

Dr. Rashidah Namisanvu Kasauli
